My name is Lucio and a I live in Berlin -an amazing city.. with the only drawback of long and cold winters :)-.
I was born an introvert with little innate social skills. I also had a naive belief that people are mostly good and there to help. And I had a rosy outlook on life that things would always work out. Magically. By themselves.
Thank God I found myself one day broke, alone and desperate.
The Power Moves is the result of that (ever ongoing) climb.
Because of my personal life circumstances I believe that post-modern society, with its consumer protections, rules of law and a myriad of ONGs, lulls many of us into the false belief that we are “taken care of”.
Now I believe you cannot fully rely on no regulation, legal system or consumer protections. You will meet countless amazing people. But for every six or seven great people, you’ll meet an ahole.
And it’s our duty -and moral obligation we owe the world- standing up to them.
My Power Moves Personality
I’ve always been a bit of a rebel, always had it in me to push back against constrictive social rules and norms.
When during my teens I used to dye my hair red and shape them into a Mohawk my mom and neighbors said it was a “phase” that would soon run its course. And together with the hair also the No Logo ideology, left wing tirades and protests would all be history soon. And part of me also thought so.
But while I got rid of tattered clothes and Mohawk hair -I couldn’t pull it off if I wanted today :)- the embers of rebellion never fully died.
I’m at odds with authority, bosses and the average Joe way of life. The Power Moves has some sort of irreverence because it doesn’t believe you can find your own voice dancing on someone else’s tune.
Today I’m also as far from communist ideology as one can be. But there’s still a populist side in me burning. I particularly detest those who use their power to take advantage of the weaker ones.
Power Moves then means understanding how some accrue (social) power and use it against others. When everyone knows that, there will be less victims and less injustice in this world.
In a way, The Power Move is my shot fired against authority and injustice in the world.
