Start with WHY to inspire human behavior, but combine it with an eagle attitude

Daily Wire+ is on a mission.

And, sometimes that mission can feel like a warpath (at least, to me).

After completing the recent review of Jordan Peterson's Dragons, Monsters & Men, I took a look around to see if there's anything else I might be interested in.

The PragerU Book Club was pretty fun and fairly thought-inspiring. But, ultimately, I felt it was time to end my subscription.

So, when I clicked the "cancel" link in my account, here's where they redirected me:

The part that stood out to me the most was this:

Daily Wire+ Team: IMPORTANT: We won't be mad if you cancel your membership. Just really, really, really disappointed. [So, say] Nevermind, I want to keep fueling the fight.

This felt like one of the dangers of group dynamics, collectivism in particular.

If one fuses or overly-invests their ego with the Daily Wire+ group of conservative intellectuals, they can feel an inclination to put the group above themself (especially when the group takes a negative judge role to punish behavior they disapprove of—in this case, leaving).

I don't like feeling like someone's trying to manipulate me into doing what they want. (In this case, leadership manipulation and emotional manipulation.)

A more eagle-like attitude would've been an "on your honor" gambit (such as "it's up to you") or de-emphasizing their persuasion to emphasize their freedom to choose (such as "...but you're free to stay or cancel").

Wow, what a cave -or bunker- of Don Quixotes (he was a guy who make up imaginary enemies to attack and validate his own existence through those enemies).

Quite a nasty judge power move in the end, too.

Yeah, nasty from start to finish. All in all dark manipulative stuff.

I think Jordan Peterson has decided to target 'the bottom of the pyramid' as an audience. That attitude was not there before, he treated his audience as fellow intellectuals on a shared journey to find truth. Now he treats his audience as if they were dumb fucks that need 'leadership' (as in, I tell you what to think, and what to do). This happened about the time he joined forces with Shapiro.

If you stay and are not repulsed by his tactics, then you qualified. They are probably thinning the herd of anyone with critical thinking skills. So they can ramp up the manipulation techniques. I can almost see how some personas were unpinned from their cork board and thrown into the bin, while they added new, dumber ones.
