Assessing people: new subforum & forum restructure

Hey guys,

I created a new subforum called "assessing people" on how to read people.

Correctly assessing people is part and parcel of power awareness and an invaluable life skill -probably part of the basic foundations as well-.

Eventually, "how to assess people" will have its own article and larger "how-to" PU lesson with various steps and examples.

For now though there are already a few fantastic forum threads that, I think, deserve their own sub-forum.

That sub-forum will also be helpful for TPM to create an article/lesson in the future.

Frankly, it should probably go under "power dynamics", but I felt that forum was overcrowded.
So for now it's under "social life", and I also moved the "negotiation" sub-forum in the work/business forum.

I agree "Reading People" would probably be better under "Power Dynamics", but I think it can still work if you update the descriptions.

Besides, I think an update was needed anyway because one of the descriptions is a bit incongruent with what's actually in the category:

So, here's an idea:

Power Dynamics - Social intelligence, analyses, & exercises to make you a social master.

Social Life - EI, reading people, friendships, social groups, group leadership

Since EI is broken into four parts: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social management, I think it can make sense to put "EI" first for "Social Life" and then, naturally, "reading people" along that same line of logic.

I agree with you on the importance of assessing people

I believe one of the best resource outside of this website on the subject is Jordan Peterson lesson on the big five model

The big five is more a templates that helps understanding people  and  their differences, but still an amazing tool In my opinion.

Thank you lilism!

Matthew went through it and also found it very useful.

I agree it's very useful and I'd like to go through it myself one day.

If you also did go through it and would like to write a review just let me know, I'd love to read it and publish it.

I will not be able to contribute with a summary, but I appreciate the offer

I am looking forward to reading your article/lesson on the subject in the future

I think it's an improvement indeed: it is a topic in itself.

Maybe that "How to spot a feminist" could fit there?
