Bid for positive judgment (pat in the back): how it looks like

Good example of a "bid for positive judgment":

Alex: I sold 4.000 of these, so... (emphasizes "so", looks up, laughs, nods")

Notice the whole thing sub-communicates:

Yeah, what I did was good

And then seeks to get a commensurate acknowledgment from others that "yes, what you did was great, respect and congratulations"

P.S.:

I'm leaving more of these for whoever wants to take over a new groundbreaking course on social skills / emotional intelligence.

Matthew started it but is not taking it forward anymore.

So if anyone's interested and getting good at it, think about it.
