Quick help request as it would be quicker for you to test than me creating a dummy account.
Can you find me on FB if we're not friends there?
I recently changed my name from my real name to a different one to avoid being messaged by random people, but messages are still coming through.
If you got a Facebook account, can you find me on Facebook writing "Lucio Buffalmano"?
Yes, I have a separate Facebook account/page and I was able to find you by writing your full name.

Obviously the name change is not working then :)
Unfortunately, I found you as well.
It must be quite annoying to get messaged by random people.
I changed my message request settings over here:
https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=privacy
It solved some of the issues of receiving random requests and messages.
Yeah, lots of folks don't seem to realize it makes them come across as a nuisance.
Unluckily you can't stop people messaging you on FB.
You can remove the button "add as a friend", but not "message him".
I'll think of something else.

You can choose to not receive these messages:

These strangers will click on the message button, message you, but these messages will not be received by you.
Hmm that's not what I found out so far.
The messages go in a separate folder, different from your connections, but you still get the notification. Maybe not on the messenger app -which I don't have-, but you do get it on the browser.
Ahhh I see, I could be wrong.
I'm the other way around.
I use the Messenger app more often and seldom go on the website.
Probably we have different user experiences.
