Covert Persuasion by Kevin Hogan
Quote from Ali Scarlett on January 14, 2022, 2:29 amHi everyone,
Covert Persuasion is a book on persuasion endorsed by Brian Tracy:
Tracy: "This book is a treasure trove of ideas you can use to turn a 'no' into a 'yes' almost instantly in any sales situation."
I'm not fully convinced of all that yet, but the reviews look pretty good so far.
Could be worth the read for anyone interested in influence and persuasion.

Endorsement Power Dynamics
A good endorsement is better than no endorsement.
at the same time, I always keep in the back of my mind that endorsement can often be part of an exchange that only partially takes into account the value of the book -and in the worst cases, it doesn't-.
Many of the big names endorse each other and when a book comes out, they're all quite "compelled" by the previous exchanges to write another endorsement.
Or maybe they think about their next book, and write endorsements left and right to get their own.
And of course, there can be money involved.
You know, not necessarily straight out buying someone. But "you'll get 30% of the revenue if you read it and give your honest opinion" type of thing. When I see a big name like Tracy endorsing a smaller guy, that can be a really good sign, because the smaller guy has little to give back to him. So it might be the book is truly valuable.
Or... It might be really bad, with money involved.Tracy is an extremely money-driven and marketing-oriented guy.
In his seminars the seats closer to him cost more, plus there is the option to "have dinner with him afterwards" with a higher price and pictures.
BUT that's still fair.
And he seems like a legit guy to me.Still, it's good to keep that in the back of your mind when seeing endorsements.
And I just wanted to raise that as it seems mandatory on a TPM forum :).
Thank you Ali!

I could certainly learn the dynamics of covert persuasion and power moves more.Covert Persuasion is a book on persuasion endorsed by Brian Tracy:

I'm also not fully convinced of that too.
Whenever someone makes a big claim that you can turn a "no" into a "yes" almost instantly in any sales situation, I'm also often sceptical. That being said, along with your advice on the good reviews, it does sound like an interesting book that I would check out too.
