Critical thinking basic: if top scientists cannot, your "guru" also cannot (he's a scammer)
I still believe critical thinking is one of the most underrated, most needed skill in the world.
I'm still surprised sometimes how even smart and successful people fall for BS:
Dana: they do these tests on you, and they know when you're gonna die within a month
To check this one, you just have to ask yourself:
Wait a second, if there is no single accredited, scientific research center that can do that -and not even top hospitals-, what are the chances that this guy, who's NOT a researcher himself, and who's asking a lot of money to "help me", is actually able to do it?
Such a simple freaking question that already raises all the red flags you need.
Then 10 minutes on Google and you'll find out it's BS.
Instead, Dana went ahead, this guy told him when he was gonna die and, listen listen... That he could save him if he only followed his program.
The perfect combo: scare the shit out of him, then pass him a lifeline.
Dana, overweight, lost weight and went closer to his appropriate weight, which is widely known and recognized to fix your blood markers and many issues.
But since Dana believed the scammer in the first place, he attributed his improvement to the scammer's "magic formula", and now he became a promoter of the scammer.
P.S.:
If there's an area where I think one may find the next niche similar to what TPM did for social strategies / power dynamics / social skills, then I think it's critical thinking skills.
I haven't found yet a place or resources that make it simple out to develop critical thinking skills, with a good balanced approach of being non-naive, while also open about the possibility.
