I think the delivery was spot on
Interesting one.
High-dominance delivery, but without getting overly angry or emotional, which was very good.
When he said "OK, merci", and then left, that also helped him come across as higher power, since if he had left without the "OK, thanks", it would have felt like he was emotionally overly-affected, and decreased his power (see Tyson around the middle of the latest video).
I'm moving it to "case studies".
OK with you if I change the title to make it more descriptive?
Something like "cultural dominance example: refusing to answer in English".
What does the journalist say? I don't understand.
Journalist: Can I ask you a question in English?
Him: No. (pregnant pause) We are in France. We speak French.
Journalist: *Mumbles* (I cannot hear this as well)
Him: Okay, Merci
