Do You Find People in Vice Industries to be Sometimes More Power-Aware Than Average?

I find people in vice industries like gambling, tobacco, shadier entertainment to be sometimes quite power-aware.

My guess is because they run services or products that have questionable long-term benefits to their customers.
As such, they need to be good at manipulation and Machiavellianism to continue drawing their customers to them.

For example, the tobacco companies sponsored movie producers to get the main characters of movies to smoke so that it appears "cool" to smoke.

Though many times it's a grey area.
People gamble for fun during holidays, and that could be value-adding.

But I think this goes back to the traits that help achieve success.
If one is both driven and Machiavellian, going for the value-adding path would be on average more stable and powerful in the long term.

Yeah, that might be the case.

It might also be a case of self-selection.
More Machiavellian, manipulative, and/or lacking ethics and morals tend to gravitate more around vice industries.

Prostitution is also a big one that both self-select and grows power-aware, Machiavellian, and manipulative women.
