Does seduction even "count" when rich, attractive, famous?
Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on January 19, 2022, 8:14 pmI was listening to this interview of Robert Greene by Jordan Peterson's daughter.
(and BTW, she's SO good. In the beginning Greene compliments her father but not her, and watch how she reacts. Total class act!)
Anyway, says Greene:

Greene: and the math was quite insane, at some point he must have seduced everyone woman haver other day, something like that. What was his secret? What made him so insanely successful?
One, Greene is going off "what someone said", which is basically "rumors".
Plus, it's still not that impressive.
One, he died of alcoholism which suggests an addictive personality who might have been out partying every day until alcoholism tipped him over the edge.
And once you combine partying with a willingness to get laid -maybe sex addict, too?- plus fame, then... The game is as easy as it can possibly get.
There is probably nothing in today's world that beats A-list actors when it comes to asymmetrical and outsized returns in dating.
I was so surprised that Greene doesn't seem to realize or acknowledge that.
I gotta wonder if that even counts as "seduction" in the sense of gaining deep leverage over someone's mind.
And while that might be the case in some cases, the huge power differential doesn't require much skills.
It's more like "pick the moth that comes to the flame to bust a nut".

Quote from ZenDancer on January 19, 2022, 8:57 pmYes, I tend to agree... even through Errol Flynn was surely an interesting case study for all sorts of traits and talents, I don't seduction was one of them... gorgeous, rich, powerful, the man was beyond being a sex symbol - he was a cultural icon... in some ways it's a semantic problem with the word 'seduction'... to me 'seduction' has the connotation of deliberate conscious action and intent to make someone want to sleep with you... I doubt Errol Flynn needed to 'do' anything to steer anyone towards his bed.. he just had to be Errol Flynn...
If you 'allow' someone who already wants to have sex with you to have sex with you, I don't think you've seduced them... you've just consented to the act...

Fair enough!
I guess one can be in a position of "having it all" and "winning too easy", but still have some "special" trait / skill / peculiarity that one can learn something from him -especially something replicable that you can also do-.
