Forum goes on break (soon)

Page 1 of 3Next

Hi all,

The forum has been wonderful.

At many levels:

  • Human level, with awesome new people connecting
  • Personal development, helping many people improve their skills and lives with real-life scenarios
  • Power University 10x, improving PU in ways that no single individual could have done

It's now time to take a break from it.

Started thinking about it after a tech glitch around this time.

Then, I kept pondering about it.
The main reasons are here.

We're now looking for ways to turn into read-only.
We need to keep the existing threads accessible to preserve the internal linking from Power University.

That may take some time.

Until then, it will still be usable.

But the links from the welcome email and the menu will be removed.
And it will disappear from PU's bonuses.

A forum of some form may return because this community is awesome and deserves a place.

Hopefully soon with even better infrastructure.

Until then, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, everyone!

Hello Lucio,

thanks for your thanks and your message.

I personally do thank you back from the bottom of my heart.

I actually feel the same way as you do.

As said before I stand by your decisions, respect, accept and support them.

It makes sense to me.

In the mean time I wish you great success in the current projects, both personal and professional.

As a member, if there is anything I can do from my position I'm happy to know about it.

On a personal note, it was a great trip and adventure, so I also want to thank you all who were supporting and challenging me.

As they say in the « Matrix »: “everything that has a beginning has an end”

Respectfully,

John

Cheers Lucio.

If there's something that will make TPM better I'm all on it.

When I got here I didn't imagine that it would change my life in such a radical way, but it did. I met amazing people, got to discover things I would've never imagined and I learned how to change my behaviour and make myself mentally and socially powerful.

I'm really thankful for your work and with all the people that have helped me here. I'm sure we all will have lots of things to share with each other when the forum (or something similar) is back.

May the wait not be long.

Till then I wish everyone the best.

Cheers.

Hi Lucio, Guys,

thank you for this wonderful adventure together. Thank you for all the invaluable help that transformed my life in so many ways, for which I'm incredibly grateful.

It's been an incredible, and also painful, two years of life. I still struggle to reintegrate happiness in my life after all the pain that preceded my joining TPM, but just knowing each day that I could "come here on the forum" and talk about it with real friends made lots of difference.

There's always another level. Maybe the closure of the forum will motivate me, first, to re-develop real world friendships, something which I'm still sorely lacking.

It's been a honor and a pleasure.

Thank you Guys, and thank you so much, Lucio.

By the way, would begging you to keep the forum open work? :)

LOL, well, it was smart of you to ask.

"Never take the first offer, never take the first "no"", should be a PU principle :D.

The thing is that, on top of all the other considerations, the "glitch that broke the camel's back" isn't fixed yet.

And now that I'm upgrading PU restoring databases may happen even more often.

Restoring database is a hassle, but I can deal with it until we find the root cause.

That approach aligns with my values:

I must still find the root cause, I pay the price.
Cool.

But I'm not cool to push those costs on others.

Today I had to restore 2 days old DB.

That's many posts.
Including many good ones.

That's many people's time and effort.

(sorry all!)

That you -others- have to pay the price for TPM's glitch... That I'm not cool with.

Plus, offering a shaky service is not what TPM is about.
Either do it great, or... Wait until you can make it great :).

An "unofficial" reddit community or a discord server could be created for the meantime.

So those interested in keeping in contact and discussing about power dynamics can talk there. If anything interesting is talked there we can save it for when the forum comes back so everyone can read it.

I don't mind creating it myself.

Yeah, why not.

Not sure how it would work out but... There is only one way to find out :).

As for Reddit, there is a reddit that posted some recent articles:

Not too familiar with Discord, but if anyone wants to go for it, why not.

I would love to potentially join a discord server!
