Help with design
Quote from Guest on August 21, 2019, 8:27 amHey, Lucio. I really like your articles and reading list. Many approaches to social life that are written in books are vague and sometimes not applicable to real life. I like that you give practical advice and show how to apply these concepts in real life, thank you for that
The website is practical and useful, but it has an old design and sometimes inconvenient design. I wanted to help and offer a redesign. Are you considering that in the near future?

And thank you for writing here like I ask in the contact page instead of emailing like everyone else does (and which I always delete without reply).
Definitely the design leaves something to be desired and it will happen.
Probably next year, albeit I know things so rarely go according to plans that it makes little sense talking about which quarter it will be.Off the top of my head what a new design should accomplish:
- A design which helps increase CTR and page views, but in a way that is helpful to the users
- Better category pages, arranging posts as a "path" towards quickest learning (ie.: start here, then read this, then go there)
- Maybe going back to a content + sidebar format, but then the sidebar should look really good
Before the complete overhaul I might go for smaller projects for these specific pages:
- Get better profile picture (as soon as I meet my dad again in October, he's a retired photographer)
- Redesign the terribly looking banner at the end of each post (you can see from a mile away that's my hack-job work :)
- The "Start here" page to make it look like a true top page (need to finalize the content first though)
- "About page" with a non-boring biography with pictures to give a better idea of where I come from
I love to hear good criticism.
Do you have some specific criticism where the site is failing the most?
Thanks mate!
