Transitioned answer is just perfect. Humour , low investment, gets the message across
I would add a smile to keep rapport.

I agree your initial response wasn't too bad.
Also simple would have been to more closely align with what you truly wanted to say:
You: (pats him back) yo man, take it easy with those backslaps

I think that was the assertive response Bel was looking for and it also equalises the relationship without escalating. Very elegant.
It also solves one I had with a friend who was going too hard on the backslaps when greeting one another.
Thank you!
Edit: In my notes!

Yeah, reverting to "be as direct as possible" is a good general rule, and a sub-item includes "as close as possible to your honest thoughts".
It's set to be a new "high-level strategy" in the next PU update.
Of course there are plenty of exceptions, including in politicized environments, but still, it's a valid general rule. And when you're lost and are not sure what to say, it's often a good course of action to revert to the highest level strategy. In this case, just address what bothered you and what was not cool.

One way of responding to your colleague was.
Him :- Don’t bother those who work Bel. (Hits you on the back)
Bel :- Don’t hit me again.
Then immediately to the person who you are talking to.
Bel :- Sorry about his rude interruption. I don’t know why he lacks manners.
now this would highlight him as the one lacking manners and you and the person you are talking to in the same team.
