How Do You Deal with Trump's Many Styles of Dominance?
Quote from Ali Scarlett on February 13, 2020, 11:46 pmHi Lucio,
Based on what I've seen so far, Trump has used the Meathead, Drill Sergeant and Dandy styles of dominance.
When dealing with someone who is a drill sergeant (let's say for instance your teacher at school), you excel in your willingness to push hard and then show not fear, but instead respect for their authority. This way, they will come to respect you as well.
What do you do when that teacher takes a "my way or the high way" position like Trump often does and becomes a Meathead? As a man, you show no fear and show resolve to communicate you're not afraid of their unstated threats of physical violence. But since they are still your teacher, they are also still operating as a Drill Sergeant. Therefore, in the end, you will still walk away from the situation following their orders and playing by their rules since you can't go for direct confrontation.
In Trump's unique case, he can also leverage his Twitter and his fame to dominate by using his notoriety as a Dandy/President. If in this example your teacher is a Dandy in the school and now you've found yourself at war, then in a way this teacher has the goodwill and support of his fans/followers in the school. Now, you're left with the responsibility of making that teacher yesterday's news on top of following his commands to avoid further confrontation.
Is it even possible to come on top when faced with a situation like this? Do you think that this is one of the reasons so many people end up getting fired by Trump?
Thanks,
Ali
