How do you feel about this guy?

PreviousPage 2 of 2

It looks like he's in an acting audition.

His hand gestures and movements feel like they're coming from a place of "this probably looks right", almost as if he's imitating what he's seen others do and hopes it'll work for him too.

There's a sense of inauthenticity, discomfort, and maybe a multi-tasking effort of trying to persuade while also trying to look like an authority who knows what he's talking about and should be listened to.

For me, it fell apart though because the seemingly forced eyebrow flashing, head tilting (really jolting) back and forth sharply (almost jittery), and unnatural (and maybe pre-meditated) hand movements turned off my interest.

P.S.:

Also agree with many of the other points in the comments above, the tight mouth-closing annoyed me a bit as well.

I agree with the observations of everyone else, and I'm quite curious what Lucio has to say on it.

The constant tight and sharp mouth-closing indicates to me that he probably doesn't want to do this at all.

And that might be the reason why he seems so inauthentic, forced and restless, as his deliberate 'opening up' gestures sharply contradict his facial expressions and general body movement − which constantly seems to say, "I want to be away from this camera".

Yes Ali I totally agree that he is over-acting.

He is nervous but he is trying hard to relax. And he wants the audience to feel relaxed; he wants the audience to believe that he is relaxed...

He is try to do what he believes the right things, like sharp body movements, head movement, hand clapping.

I feel he's the opposite of Authentic. Which is strange because what he's saying is something he could identify with.

It might be he's just doing 'yet another video' and feels burnout. I'd check his demeanor on other videos. Maybe he just hates motorcycles at this point, and resents the daily crunch that youtubers suffer?

At first, he looked like the type of guy that doesn't give too much **** about anything or anyone, the bad “life-drained asshole” type though... but the more I watched it, it was more like a fake “coolness” mask that he try to put to hide his nervousness and uncomfortableness, it almost feels like He's forcing himself/being forced to shoot that videos haha.

Thank for all the latest input Ali, Anon, MMC, LOF, and TheDucas.

Yeah, you guys hit what I was thinking, and went further.

I wanted to use him as an example for PU and wanted to make sure / get some data on how people would indeed react to that body language.

Overall, it's confirmed: very negative.

It's probably a mix of things, and I focused on the movements of pulling his face away and upward, and jutting/pulling his chin high-up, which is a sign of either aggression, unfriendliness, superiority, and not wanting to have anything to do with those around.
