How to demand attention when someone is dismissing you?
Hey everyone,
I'm trying to figure out a high power way to handle getting someone's attention, when they are either ignoring or turn their back towards you after saying something passive aggressive.
You can't simply start screaming or waving your arms in front of them as you'll look kind of spazzy, but at the same time you can't simply let them do that to you otherwise they sub-communicate that they have the power to turn the channel of communication on and off.
I was thinking a louder than average retort to the rest of the room (ie not directly at him/her) but aloud to the universe where you can reframe it to your hearts content.
For example, someone says with a disgusted look that sometimes your work is "OK" and then turns their back to you, I'm thinking a decent response could be "Why do I have to listen to these backhanded compliments?"
I'm excited to hear other ideas that other folks might have though.
