I’m not there yet! I did wear the braces for 2 years, I had 2 surgeries. The second one to remove the metal plate. But this was because I had a tooth that could not be moved (fused to the bone). Each case is different of course.
I would recommend it though, especially since you’re even younger than me. You will benefit it for longer. I am not a specialist but I would say 2 years is the maximum. Time will pass anyway. And in the mean time it’s not really a problem. It’s even a badge of honor: « I’m investing in me »
It cost me (and still is) a lot of money. These are Swiss prices. Also it all depends how important it is to you. For me it was important also for other personal reasons.
My recommendation would be: don’t go for cheap, these are your teeth.
I was lucky to have a friend from high school who’s a dental-face surgeon now to recommend me someone. He told me if he would have to go for his children he would go to this guy he recommended. And I’m really impressed with his work. He’s one of these people you know they are some of the best at their job. I paid a lot of money but I’m happy I did. I got the best treatment I could get.
