Individuals Who Use the Wrong Word to Express Themselves
Quote from Matthew Whitewood on February 6, 2021, 8:52 amI realised that some people use the wrong words to describe a situation and inevitably come across as pulling a power move.
In my case, I am working with one individual.
He keeps using the word "obviously".Then it struck me.
He doesn't mean it in a condescending tone.
He actually means "certainly" instead of "obviously".Me: Here are my thoughts ...
Him: Obviously!
Here is what I realised he intends to say
Me: Here are my thoughts ...
Him: Certainly!
I drew this conclusion because he is usually friendly during meetings.
In this case, from my conversations and discussions with him, the word "certainly" fits very well whenever he says "obviously".
