Just say it
Currently on lesson "Enlightened Management" and I think the rule "just say it" is not only great when being a leader but should be a rule for every shier person in their life.
It is often that I think so long to make a question or to give a remark that the opportunity passes, I feel like not saying it in right way will make it bad.
And it's of course important to think about some more complex topics in life before saying them.
But if you are quite sure of what you think or want to say, just say it, that's the most important thing, you will later correct if you say it wrong, but if you don't start there will be never an option to come to understanding.
For example when in disempowering situation in family, I didn't really have the words to address the behaviour, but I addressed it regardless, I was met with funny looks and question of "what do you mean", yet as the discussion kept on going better and better sounding thoughts and explanations started to pop up in my head and in the end I carried the point across.
It's the same with the idea during a meeting, you may say it badly and people with weird looks will ask, "what do you mean by that"? But that's already a time you have to give more nuanced explanation and you will carry your point at the end, and if it's right, you will get good reputation.
And even if you are inexperienced, you will ask both good and stupid questions and people may think you are bad, but as you continue, you will learn, you will get answers for your "stupid questions" and you will in time give better questions and ideas, and you win compared to someone too scared to just say it.
That person may not look bad at the beginning, better than you maybe, but when you get stuck, you ask questions and learn, when they get stuck, they just sit there and either figure why themselves ( it's harder ) or don't figure it out and stay the same, they will doubt even their good ideas and be strongly discouraged when the times they think their idea is good, it gets rejected.
