Lady Gaga Power Move: can you promise you forgive yourself?
Apparently a Lady Gaga fan fell off the stage while holding Lady Gaga herself.
Lady Gaga later told the fan in front of everyone:
Lady Gaga: Can you promise something...
That you just forgive yourself right now for that happening?
"That happening" was an honest mistake.
There was nothing he had to forgive himself about and, if anything, he might have been equally happy for having done an unforgettable memory.
Lady Gaga was equally responsible for it anyway because she jumped on the lap of a guy who hadn't even asked to hold her.
But with that question she took positioned herself on the pedestal because it's as if she was saying:
Can you forgive yourself for being so awkward and making that huge blunder with this superstar?
Because I'm the star and you're a nobody, so you should feel guilty about it...
This is an example of a covert power move.
Seeming trying to support people, but actually enslaving them.
The only answer possible for Jack was:
Jack: I would actually do it again
Or:
Jack: Yeah, if you promise to forgive yourself for jumping on my lap then we're good to go miss Gaga
And then she kept on going positioning him as the rabid fan who craves her and slotting herself like the queen that everyone wants.
Yeah, fans can be idiotic sometimes.
From a power dynamics perspective, you better never be too much of a fan.
