as I’m travelling in Northern England, I’m in Manchester.

Manchester is labour. It has a long history of blue-collar as a pioneer in industrial era history.

In Manchester there is a neighborhood called the “gay village” and it is currently Manchester (gay) pride.

At the art museum entrance there is a poem about sexuality (being like a sea in its diversity and having nothing to do with morality).

This inspired me this thought:

Leftist/progressist governments gain by promoting sexual freedom with:

Women who have been shamed for promiscuity for thousands of years. And whose sexuality has been (and still is) a matter of control by men and society at large. For several reasons that I’m not going to going to go into.

Working class/“average” men: in conservative places, there is more emphasis on long term dating. This also leads women to seek higher status men in these conditions as the low status chad presents little to no interest for them in a long term committed relationship. In terms of status and therefore of acquiring and keeping resources. So in conservative places low status men have less access to sex generally speaking, short and long term. Therefore these men gain more when women have little to no negative consequences for short-term sexual encounters.

Sexual minorities: gays, etc. the amount of suffering these people have endured (and are still enduring) to conservative, religious, fascist and authoritarian governments is not a trifle. Self-explanatory.

So my reasoning is that leftist/progressist governments increase their popularity within these groups by promoting and allowing sexual freedom.
