"Little girl" body language: Kay from "The Godfather"

Short and "sweet" (pun not intended):

Notice how she moves, she gives all the signals that she doesn't belong there with the men of power.
She sub-communicates "I'm just a clueless girl, I don't want / can't deal with business stuff and I'm not comfortable with the spotlight".

Many men find that endearing, but women who want to achieve in business must remove those nonverbals from their repertoire. Alternatively, they can keep those "little girl" moves for when they're outside of business and want to come across as more submissive for social charm / attraction points (or to prod a man to approach them).

Some of the body language "little girl" signals:

  • Takes time to shake his hand, looking fearful and follower-like
  • Big toothy grin, communicating "I'm uncomfortable"
  • Diverts her gaze, communicating a lack of social confidence / social power
  • Never looks at the photographers, communicating she does not care / want to craft a public persona
  • Little bow while before exiting (biggest signal)
  • "Hair behind the ear" move
  • Crouches towards a kid right after exiting (reinforcing the idea she's a nurturer, not a hard-driver)
