Mastering self-awareness and self-control before moving forward in Power University?

Hi all,

As I go through the power university course, one question popped up in my mind. Should we proceed forward, despite not mastering the previous lessons? Or should be not progress forward, until we have the previous lessons mastered?

For example, I am in the second module, but I have yet to establish a firm direction in life. I am pursuing some goals that stretch my comfort zone, and enhancing my identity. However, I find that I am bogged down by many of my vices (smoking pot and not eating very well).

On the other hand, these vices seem to be chronic issues for me and ebb and flow, in opposition to my self-discipline. What do you all think of this?

My answer to my question:
This could just be mental masturbation. We all struggle with something, and it's different everyday. What's important is to sit down, and study the concepts. If I don't have it mastered, that means I have to go back and review it. And find out how I can implement the ideas in my life.

Thanks all,

John

I agree with your own answer, John.

Albeit studying or targeting self-development in a certain order can certainly be helpful -or even very helfpul-, nothing will ever be perfect.

You smoking pot or eating fatty food AND being more power-aware is a lot better than you smoking pot, eating fatty food, and NOT being power aware.

As a matter of fact, if you learn how to move well socially, you'll probably have an edge on all other folks who eat well, never smoke, but who are clueless about power dynamics.

So, yes, I'd definitely advise to keep on going with your self-development.
Life is short, and waiting for the perfect moment to do anything is often wasted time.
