Meta-Discussion on Feedback
Quote from Matthew Whitewood on December 20, 2021, 9:01 amOne way to communicate and discuss ideas effectively would be to think in terms of an "ideation lifecycle":
- Interest/Requirement Discovery (ask questions)
- Ideation - explore ideas and form ideas (divergent thinking)
- Evaluation - critique, challenge, agree, find evidence (convergent thinking)
- Draw conclusion (convergent thinking)
- Execute
Of course, it's not strictly "categorised" and "linear".
Ideas grow and collapse as people brainstorm and evaluate. For example, someone may come out with an idea and post the idea on the forum.
It's important to know whether the person is looking to form the idea further or evaluate the idea.
Maybe the person is looking for a yes-no decision right away.I tend to enjoy starting at the ideation phase.
I like the initial freedom of thought.
Not saying I like the ideation phase the most but I enjoy starting here.Others may like the evaluation phase of ideas.
Lucio seems to enjoy the evaluation phase.Sometimes it could be helpful to ask the person what they are looking for.
I think there're many variations of an ideation lifecycle.
I gave an example to highlight how it can be used in discussions.

And that's a great (unintended) feedback.

Quote from Transitioned on December 21, 2021, 8:57 pmThank you Matthew that's a nice summary of ideation. I ll add that to my workshop facilitation notes.
That's what I love about the community here. We re action oriented but there s a constantly evolving shared language and foundation (PU) which unites us and a depth of analysis in this field I haven't found anywhere else.
And @lucio the old saying is when the student is ready the teacher will come.
I was reading over some of your post replies looking for tactics. And what I took away was actually your thinking on mindset  Earlier I couldn't process or apply that. Now I can. You ve grown the student.
BTW I think at some point I think this site will breakout and become quite the revenue engine. SU should be a great success. There is so much BS sold in the dating industry.

That is so cool, would love to hear more about it if you have some ideas on how to internalize a mindset / approach.
