Moe Intro
Quote from MoeSal91 on August 30, 2023, 4:06 pmHey everyone,
I am Moe, just turned 32 today. It's great to meet you all and I am excited to be here after watching some clips from The Power Moves YouTube channel.
Quick background about me. I was born and raised in Russia, with Persian roots. My family and I moved to Canada when I was 16 years old. Presently, I work for Apple Inc. All things considered, I consider myself very fortunate in life. However, I had a difficult upbringing. Growing up in Russia was tough. The people are tough and racist which makes it difficult to fit in. It was tough at home as well. I was brought up in a stringent family, with three other siblings. I believe the way I was raised has turned me into a people pleaser which always held me back from being myself and living on my terms, to this day. Although my situation improved drastically at present, this mindset has cost me quite a bit in life and I plan to take action on that. I believe all difficulties faced in life if channeled correctly, can help build us into the best version of ourselves.
I have always been a big fan of fitness and martial arts which helped me tremendously in life.
I must say my mid-20s were the darkest years of my life when I contemplated some things that led me to drop out of university and build bad habits as coping mechanisms. I had no idea how to handle my own emotions and was too proud to seek help and suppressed it all which made things worse. However, after a friend introduced me to intermittent fasting and book reading, my life started getting better which eventually led me to land a job at Apple Inc.
I became obsessed with reading books on Philosophy, Psychology, Finance, and History. To this day, I've read over a hundred books on these topics which completely changed the way I see and perceive people, society, and the world as a whole. I have read all of Robert Greene's books after discovering 48 Laws of Power. His books are the most impactful and led me to join The Power University.

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on August 30, 2023, 6:56 pmWelcome here Moe, and... Happy happy birthday man!
Thank you for sharing your background, it's always interesting to see how people end up here and what struggles they had/have.
Similar to you, I also couldn't easily "reach out for help" when I needed it the most.
And like you, I also believe that if you channel your struggles well, they can be your main driver and fuel for growth. If you found The 48 Laws of Power valuable, I think there are good chances that you'll find PU even more valuable and practical (I can recall more than one person on these forums who said the same).
Welcome again, and if you so wish, looking forward to reading more from you!
