New category & series: power moves dictionary
Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on December 26, 2022, 6:07 amJust launched a new category: the dictionary.
This is for shorter entries to list and explain power dynamics concepts.
Including power moves, manipulation techniques, shit tests, various social gambits, etc. etc.
These are shorter articles and the basic structure will include:
- Definition
- Explanation, of how the dynamics work and how they disempower or harm you
- Examples, as per TPM usual: we learn through real-life examples
- Solutions both in techniques, frame control, answers, and/or mindsets
I decided for this approach when the "dictionary of power dynamics" got large and unwieldy.
It's not very easy to use and for some entries, there isn't enough space to tackle more complex dynamics.
Edit: may still keep using it, but it will be without examples/solutions and instead link straight to the article.Plus, it may be good for TPM.
Right now many concepts are in PU, in some articles, or in the forum.
But they're not very visible without their own article.
With a proper article instead, they become more like "official", link-worthy concepts -often, they'll be the very first article to ever describe, name, and explain a particular dynamic-.
As that category becomes the largest, most advanced, and best repository of power moves / manipulation, it will also lift the profile of the website as the #1 resource for social dynamics. Finally, it also allows for better "credit-giving" and linking and acknowledging the people who came up with the concept.

- Teacher-learner frames: this was under "growth mindset power dynamics", but it really deserved its own entry
