P.D's Semen retention journal

Cheers guys.

Here I'll be posting tips, experiences and discoveries I make regarding semen retention&abstaining from masturbation and pornography  and the benefits associated with this practise. I hope this will be interesting and helpful not only for me but for other forum users as well.

I initially started this whole semen retention/nofap thing in order to break free of my porn&masturbation addiction, after 1 year trying without much success I finally ended up achieving the mark of 7 months without masturbating or watching pornography.

The main tips I used&still use to do this:

  • Exercise regularly.
  • Under no circumstance search anything arousing on the internet (even when you tell yourself that it will be just a sec, you know it won't). Also actively avoiding things that can make one aroused (series, films, videogames, thoughts that include sexual connotations)
  • Reminding oneself of how this practise is improving one's social skills, attention, energy levels, mood and more, as well as how all those things will disappear as soon as one masturbates/watches porn. (Gratitude for the present moment and fear of what can happen)
  • Reminding oneself all the negative things associated with masturbation&porn. (Lower levels of energy, shame, low power behaviour, decreased confidence, worse mood, etc)
  • Congratulating oneself for resisting the urge to relapse.

The benefits/changes I got from this practise (+2/3 months since I started, of course I can guarantee a 100% that those behaviours are because of nofap but it's quite a coincidence that I experienced all the changes that other folks also experienced. After stopping this practise most of said changes disappeared)

  • Higher power behaviour.
  • Increased energy levels.
  • Lower pitch of voice.
  • Increased motivation and "inner fire".
  • Increased confidence (both with men and women)
  • Increased emotional independence and value taking behaviour.
  • More intense eye contact.
  • Increased desire for aggression, fighting and competition.
  • Increased attraction from women.
  • Increased libido.

The high power behaviour includes: increased power awareness (from power unaware to slightly power aware), increased dominance, increased social ROI (moving slower, talking less), and increased frame control skills.

Some of those benefits came from the newly acquired power awareness as well as from the emotional independence.

And around that time I also started doing muay thai, which may have affected my energy levels and made me more predisposed and willing to dominate other men. Most of those changes may have come from increased testosterone and because of having less stimulation.

Semen retention won't make one a god/monk/master of ones mind, nor it will solve insecurities or trauma, in fact part of my value taking behaviour and high power behaviour came from insecurities. It does help one to further improve by increasing focus, energy and testosterone.

P.S:

So far it's been 2 weeks since I started semen retention again.

Also a fun fact is that many high achievers and top athletes acknowledge abstaining from romantic relationships while their training for a big competition. Some directly say that they abstain from sex/release, others seem to give hints that get close to what semen retention is. There's a funny quote from Mickey in Rocky 1: "Women weaken legs!", imagine a mainstream modern movie saying that.

After around around 20 days:

  • I'm starting to feel way more confident and calm in social situations
  • I feel  that emotional regulation is easier: I can tell at the moment when im getting more nervous and calm myself.
  • People seem to be like me more, probably because calmness shows confidence.
  • My power skills are better particularly frame control, being calm allows one to think better/more as well as to commit less mistakes (I also recall reading an article mentioning women liking men high on testosterone because they were smoother in social interactions, testosterone could play a role in power skills)
  • Not thinking about sex decreases libido a lot.

Of course those are all personal experiences, and other circumstances could be the cause, it's still quite a coincidence that significant change starts after semen retention. Time will tell if it's placebo or not.

Thank you for sharing and the inspiration, Power Duck.

I'll share my fears as I shortly did this in the past. I'm afraid of failing and I'm afraid of not knowing how to deal with all this energy (was the major problem in the past).

Cheers John.

Personally, when I'm studying and I have lots of energy I either listen to fast paced and intense music (normally heavy metal), or I get up and write the subject in a pen board I have in my wall.

Going to the gym and having intense workout sessions also works a lot.

That's how I usually tackle the energy problem.

It's a bit of  unrequested advice so feel free to ignore.

P.S:

It gets easier with time, since one starts to disassociate sexual pleasure with masturbation.

My latest experiences related to semen retention are definetely not placebo effect nor caused by other circumstances.

These past days:

  • Regained masculine self identity as well as increased confidence.
  • Increased performance at the gym, as well as increased motivation.
  • Speaking slower, in a lower pitch, with more confidence and with a more profound voice.  (The confidence and sense of masculinity subconsciously made me change my speaking habits)
  • More masculine&high power behaviour and body language, the way in which I walk changed without me noticing.
  • Increased self awareness in regards to social power.

While I wasn't on retention I purposefully tried to develop 1,3 and 4 since I knew that was what improved my social performance during my 7 month retention, I had little success and often fell again into the negative habits I wanted to change. Now I have this constant awareness that tells me when I'm behaving in a low power fashion and that constantly assesess whether or not I should behave in that way. I also experienced this during the 7 month period, sometimes causing uncomfortable situations because subconsciously I always wanted to come across as high power, I pulled power moves and got negative reactions without knowing what I was doing wrong. I didn't knew about tpm then.

Now I'm starting to transmutate sexual desire into energy consciously, it consists in redirecting one's thoughts from sex to the mission, specially effective when one is sexually aroused.
