Passive-aggressive conveyed facial expressions
Quote from Growfast on October 28, 2021, 6:45 pmI have come across a tactic used sometimes by some people who show expressions of 'disgust' and 'What is this this guy even talking about?' When I talk about my ideas, passions and express my opinions.
Most times the some guys do this in a group as a way of social ladder climbing.
How to handle these situations especially when a couple of these Passive-agressive folk give looks to each other?
Currently I ignore them because on one occasion when I called them out they completely denied it and put the blame on me as in "I might be considering my ideas not very good for others myself and hence I am feeling it".
How would you handle these situations?
Feel free to share your thoughts

Example of Dominant Body Language (Pictures)If it's an idea, one could say
Yeah, it’s a a bit of complex topic, I know.
Then, proceed to continue talking.
If it's your passion,
It takes familiarity to appreciate this field.
Other statements:
- Maybe you're not familiar
- It could be your first time hearing the ideas
If you're in a group, ignore the person making the expression and face the others while speaking.

I know I drag gender into our discussions. But I am 100 percent evidence based. I wonder if we should adapt it for mainly female groups or one where there is a woman present your interested in. BRB

Quote from Transitioned on October 31, 2021, 4:10 amHappy to be convinced otherwise. In my interactions and social groups I have noticed that woman like to stay off serious and complex topics and talk about popular topics or who is doing what to whom.
I m wondering if we could adapt:
"Yeah, it’s a a bit of complex topic, I know." to:
I knew you guys would enjoy this. It was all over the today show the other day (insert whatever the well-known populist light news show is in your area).
To me 'complex' is synonymous with boring and nerdy to most women.
And yes, Matthew was perfect on the body language I would definitely turn to the rest of the group and partially turn your back on this guy.

Quote from Matthew Whitewood on October 31, 2021, 5:10 pmI share the same view that it would be different for female-dominated groups too.
The topics of interest are probably about what's popular and happening.I knew you guys would enjoy this. It was all over the today show the other day (insert whatever the well-known populist light news show is in your area).
Do you think that this may come across as looking for validation or forcing the vibe?
I haven't tried this approach personally so not very experienced.Maybe for female-dominated groups, one could
- ignore the passive-aggressive woman,
- continue your train of sharing,
- look for the most engaged woman with reasonable status,
- ask that engaged woman a question
If all the women are uninterested, then maybe passing the mike (by asking a question or what not) or switching topics would be best.

I was more trying to make the point in mixed social groups what you say and to who is as important as what
