Power Move: "If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best"
Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on August 23, 2021, 4:38 pmWhat a neat power move Marilyn Monroe came up with:
"If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best"
Such as:
I may behave like a bitch, but if you can't handle my drama, that you're not good enough for me.
= I'm looking for a spineless man that will put up with my drama and stand beside me no matter the amount of bitching I bring into his lifeThat is a sign of a potential borderline personality disorder (= huge mood swings & endless drama) who's trying to switch the table on you.
Such as:
It's not her (or more rarely him) who should work on herself to avoid dragging you into the depths of her emotional roller coaster.
But it's you who should learn to better put up with that drama. As a general rule, consider that line a red flag.
And if you see drama, consider that attitude of "you don't deserve me at my best" as a manipulative attempt to keep you in a toxic relationship.

What's her best? No drama :-)? And emotional rewards?
I totally see what you mean.

Quote from Transitioned on August 25, 2021, 9:54 amI didn't know that came from her. A lot of women use that on their online dating profiles. I appreciated the honesty it tells me that they are only good for fun.
I had a marketing lady at work show me her tinder profile once it was all this in your face challenge stuff. And yes she did turn out to be a huge bitch and she was boning the marketing director who was going to be the next CEO. So she had pretty much unlimited proxy power and got a lot of solid people fired. True story.

Do women sometimes use sex as a bargaining chip to progress in careers as per your experience?
Because I have heard a couple of cases but they always seem to say that it was due to emotional connection/they were in the talking stage, etc. Don't know whether they actually mean it(talking stage, etc).
Also how would you identify such a person if you ever run into them?

Yes, it's a popular line.
Some women might mean it as a honest "warning", but I think that a big chunk use it as a power move to frame their future craziness as the due price for her otherwise greatness.
As Matthew suggests, whether that "greatness" is true or imagined, is all to be seen.
In my experience, the "greatness" of wild emotional swings means being on an unnatural high that is more fake than great.
But once men have seen those swings enough times, then it becomes the sign of a ticking bomb that will soon turn into endless drama, devaluation for the men who can't be enough of an emotional tampon, and her blaming him for his "inability" to care for her.But yeah, I guess you still have a point: to more aware men, that still works as a great warning sign -even that wasn't the intention- :).
