Power reversals: guy asks the questions with cops (video examples)

if this is legit, it is a must watch, what he did is obviously risky but it seems he was able to pull it off?

Difficult to say whether it's legit or not, YouTube is chock full of fake videos.
But it might be real.
The real power reversal that was at least somewhat felt and accepted by the cop happened when he said "I investigate corrupt officials", and at that point, you can see the cop answered a few questions in a row -albeit still in full confrontational mode-.
But then the cameraman loses his own frame when he asks "do you have drugs on you", which was incongruent since he seemed like he was tooling the cop, rather than being on a real investigative case. If he wanted to keep his charge on, he should have sounded more like he was following a trail of information that led him there and to that particular police station. Two more interesting bits:
- The cop saying "you have about 5 minutes to get out of here": a mistake, he oversteps his authority with a threat he can't really back up. And, if he did, that would land him in far bigger troubles. So by stating a threat that he can't back up, he indeed looked more powerless and like he did indeed get tooled
- The black cop didn't really help his friend: by answering the "investigative journalist" questions seriously, he is providing power and authority to the tooler, and casting doubt on his own colleague. He shouldn't have taken the tooler seriously. He left his colleague alone hanging out to dry

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on August 19, 2020, 4:59 amThe second one was better because he never took it too personally, and never took him too seriously.
When he said "man, are you crazy", and then left with an attitude of "this guy's a wacko", that was the right attitude this handle this guy.
The first cop instead took him too seriously and started a power escalation that he both couldn't win, and that gave too much power to the tooler. To avoid falling into that trap, treat a tooler like a tooler unworthy of your time.

Quote from Stef on August 19, 2020, 5:49 amyes you are right, it seems the youtuber was not completely serious, so he asked out of place questions just for fun, losing points, breaking frame and coming as a tooler or a joker.
Your title is more specific, I did not give more details in the original because next time power reversals (if we found more video examples) may not involve cops. But we can reformulate it, if and when that happens. Or was that the title I gave it? I have memory issues...

Yeah, I changed it.
But it sounds like you had a much better idea, to have something like a running thread, with more examples of power reversals.
That would be super cool indeed.
If we get more without cops, then absolutely, we'll change accordingly.
