Ralu's Introduction

Hello everyone!

It's great to be here. After much debate, I've finally indulged my money into PU. I'm hoping for the best.

Little about myself; I'm 26 years old, I'm based in Toronto, Canada, and I'm an aspiring Actor. I've indulged in Pickup Artistry and self-development for over 7 years, and I'm hoping to learn new things about power that I haven't seen in other places. I'm able to seduce women, but I'm unable to hold a tight frame or hold much power as of yet. It's something I'm working on. Being in the restaurant industry for 6 years, I feel like I've adapted too much of a people pleasing mentality, and I've focused too much on making others feel comfortable.

What I'm working on right now is being more dominant in my frame, values, and boundaries, as well as being able to get what I want. I'm trying to learn how to manage my emotions as well, and boost my self-worth as I've felt terrible about myself for a long time, and I know that hinders my progress as I'd let failures dictate my mood.

I want to understand and feel every emotion while still not being run by them, because as an Actor, it is necessary if I want an authentic performance. I've repressed my emotions for so long, so now I'm unravelling in sometimes good ways, but mostly bad ways.

I hope to gain more self-awareness through this course, as well as become a stronger person who's able to get what he wants and feel mental freedom wherever I go.

I'm glad I'm able to share this and join you guys in this journey :)

Cheers,

Ralu

Hello Ralu, good to see you here, and welcome.

Thank you for the intro, and interesting background.
Curious about your PUA learning/preferred coaches, and also what you mean by "holding a tight frame".

Feeling all emotions without being at their mercy sounds awesome, and truly in line with your acting goals -a much more challenging job than many would imagine, I think-.

And "freedom" and "mental freedom" wherever you go were also a goal/vision of mine, and it is indeed an awesome stage to reach.

Look forward to interacting with you!

Hello, Ralu, welcome to TPM, man!

Funny enough, I was initially also reluctant to join PU. The very first lesson won me big, and I'm running it for the second time, still learning new things. Best purchase ever.

Being in the restaurant industry for 6 years, I feel like I've adapted too much of a people pleasing mentality, and I've focused too much on making others feel comfortable.

This one is actually good news! Sure, it needs some polish: once you remove the "too much" and the "people pleasing mentality", you'll discover that you already have the win-win mentality ingrained.

With your over 7 years of self development, I bet you have lots of value to share in this forum. It'll be a pleasure to exchange with you.

All the best!

Hello Ralu, welcome here!

Also curious about what you mean by "holding a tight frame" (do you mean to say you usually buy into other people's frames more often than you convince others to join yours?), feel free to open a thread for it if you want to share in more detail.

And, I also spent some time acting before COVID hit and I switched over to writing books, and I'll be getting back into it sometime in the future.

So, if you want to open a thread in the "Work" section, happy to exchange ideas on growing an acting career as well.

It's going to be wonderful interacting with you as well! Although I have not explored your website as much, I've loved your thoughtful takes on shit tests and frame control. I've always admired those who were able to push more advanced perspectives on the commonly parroted terms. Especially agree with your take on "Agree and amplify"! I've always had a hunch about that shit test passing option that didn't appeal to me.

And yes, people underestimate their ability of control over their emotions; most of what I've seen is just repression.

I've mainly learned from Girlschase articles, mainly by Chase, sometimes by Hector and Alek. I've seen others on Youtube but it never seemed as in depth.

Love the way you put it! With awareness and further knowledge of power dynamics I'm sure I'll definitely be able to overcome it.

It'll be a pleasure to exchange with you too!

Having both writing and acting is super valuable! I'd definitely like to exchange ideas.

And yes, that's exactly right. I've gotten really used to buying into other peoples' frames to get along with people. It kind of sucks because I feel like I'm losing freedom over myself in some abstract way. I've had a few thoughts to solve the issue, but haven't solidified anything yet lol.
