Review for TPM - the language of leadership

PreviousPage 3 of 3

Thanks Lucio your edits were perfect, better structure, TPM integrated and more WIIFMs.

Only big typo I spotted was my mistake - double up par in the summary:

Whatever the interview format, how you want it to roll is as a back and forth conversation and have the interviewers to positively imagine them working alongside you.

On the day you want the interview to become a free flowing conversation where you learn more about the role and frame yourself as already one of their teammates

Btw you were very generous.  I knew there was a rich vein on this topic in the forum.  I was expecting you to use that material as a freemium funnel into PU

Cheers Transitioned, your first draft was awesome.

BTW, what do you think about something like this for a signature:

Transitioned navigates the treacherous corporate world as an external IT consultant and project manager.
He has worked with tens of companies, crossed path with hundreds political players and seen thousands of games and power moves. With time, he learned to sail through all of it for maximum effectiveness and returns.

If you have nothing against it, I can go ahead and add it.

Ooh that's a bit too realpolitik for me.  How about a mashie?

Transitioned is a senior external IT consultant and project manager  with over 20 years experience across half a dozen industries.   The goals are always empowering teams, increasing business agility and delivering outcomes. Influencing, cutting through and navigating personal and corporate politics to reach those goals is another day in the office.

The article on how to interview is stellar, and I learned lots from it.

Thank you Transitioned and Lucio!

Question to @Transitioned after reading your awesome, awesome article on how to interview:

Could you share your view or maybe just some tips on how to get interviews as well?

I'm asking because a big sticking point of mine (when, many years ago, I started working and was looking to work in law firms) was simply getting interviews. Out of 100 resumes I sent out I maybe got a handful of interviews.

And I think getting this part right may also have to do more with power dynamics than with having a "stellar" resume. I suppose there are things from a power dynamics perspective that one can implement to maximize the chance that a resume is selected for an interview.

I'm self-employed now, but I think this is also something that can be really, really useful to know and have ready should the need ever arise again.

If you can share, but it's off-topic here, I'll open a new thread on this!
