Rogue, an introduction - recovering nice guy.

Team,

Excited to begin exploring these topics with you all.

I'm Rogue, an English entrepreneur in my early 20's. Over the past few years as an entrepreneur I've created some remarkable opportunities over the last few years. I've also made some remarkable mistakes. I have:

  1. Got embedded into a pick-up artist and self-development cult, which was tremendous in creating great change in my life, but equally very invasive and I realised was shaping me into a man I didn't admire. In total, I paid them over $35k USD - an expensive but very useful lesson which contributes to my being here today.
  2. Left a 'high-flying' corporate career after I realised the exploitation involved, and I saw through the ridiculous false promises of promotion and advancement (in great part due to the aforementioned self-dev cult).
  3. Build a business that provides a remarkable income level relative to my peers in my age cohort, and enables me to travel extensively and grow as a person as a result.
  4. Got into my first serious relationship within the last year, where I see myself often (but not always) falling into my girlfriend's frame (not her fault, all on me for being very doting on her).
  5. Have earned opportunities where I'm meeting billionaire investors and maverick entrepreneurs, but lack the social acuity to be having a serious seat at their table. I've also been warned by close friends and mentors to improve my power awareness so I don't get taken advantage of by real business sharks.

The reoccurring lesson I've yet to learn from the last few years is that I need to become less susceptible to falling into other people's frames. Whenever someone has a well thought through argument I've often left stumped and find myself agreeing with them, then acting in accordance with what they said, even when it's not always in my best interest. I've gotten much better recently, but I want to continue my studies over the next few years to prevent this being an issue later in life.

Excited to learn with you all,
Rogue

Hello Rogue!

Welcome and good seeing you here man, you got such an awesome and interesting background.

If you want to share more about that PUA/self-development cult, I'm obviously interested and curious to read -and if you may be interested in an actual article review later on, we can also talk about that-.

Just a quick possible idea on this one:

One option:

They: (says something that sounds rational and logical, but whose conclusions aren't necessarily good for you)
You: That makes sense. I need to think more about it

Something I also like to do a lot:

You: Nice. You're smart man (I respect that/give you that)

That compliments them and maintains rapport, but with a high-power judge frame.

And, plus, a slight sub-communication that they may be smart manipulators -especially if you do it with a tight-lipped smile and eye contact while you're thinking "I know you're a game player"-.

And so, the dive into the game begins :)

Thank you for the above, Lucio, starting to dive deeper into this and I'll keep these front of mind going forward until I can deepen by understanding.

There have been a few links with PU that are blocked to me. Can anyone advice on how I fix this?

Sorry, you cannot access this area.

Solved now.

The "empowered member" checkmark was unclicked, strange as I remember seeing the tag under your name.

And just to add some more value to the discussions, a more direct option for when you spot a game:

You: (smiles) ehehe you know how to play the game eh? (look at the sideways, eyes  a bit squinted, waiting for them to crack and laugh)

This also works great in dating, BTW.

Women aren't much used to guys who read their games and maneuvers, and they love being overpowered in that area (as well).

Brilliant. Thank you again (for both).

Also, Lucio, I've noticed a few spelling/grammar errors in the PU content thus far (Intro & Becoming High Value). Where is the best place for me to keep a log and feed these back to you, if it's valuable? Happy to screenshot these and pass them on any time I notice one.

Thank you Rogue, that's very valuable indeed, but of course without any obligation, and whenever you feel like, this is the thread for typos, grammar and syntax.

I have not prioritized going through TPM. I still can't prioritize this now, but I look forward to continuing to learn the lessons held within.
