I found an interesting note in this article examining dating app algorithms:

"Others use language- matching – so when chatting about travel, food or fitness, you’ll be shown matches who have put similar things in their profiles."

I've noticed this in my own experience on Tinder.  I currently have "plants" in my profile and my matches disproportionately have the same.  I've noticed the same for other words in the past like "stoner" and "podcast" will get people who have "weed" and "books".  Hard to say if its the keywords or if the algorithm just clusters people with the same "vibe", but it's got me thinking.
