Speaking more o less: dominance, charisma, etc

Higher Look-Speak to Look-Listen Ratio
Charismatic individuals speak more. Makes sense, right? Charisma is about leadership, and leaders are the ones giving the orders.
The more a man speaks while looking at someone, as opposed to listening while looking at that person, the more powerful people rate him. A man who speaks 75% of the time while listening 25% of the time is rated as 1.4x more powerful than a man with a 50/50 look-speak/look-listen ratio.
As you might expect, the man who’s a speaker is rated still higher than the man who is mostly a listener; men who 75/25 speak/listen are rated 3.6x more powerful than men who listen 75% of the time and speak only 25%.
It’s very difficult to come across as charismatic if you’re dominated in the conversation by someone else. You can’t always dominate every conversation, and will look tryhard if you try. Instead, what charismatic individuals learn to do is seek out opportunities where they can be conversationally dominant, while avoiding situations where they will be trapped in the listener role.

Guys and

@lucio

What your take on that paragraph?

I think in some cases it is pretty evident that talking less can come across as more powerful

In what context do you think talking more may be more powerful?

It may even come to depend on your dominance style i suppose...

Also, do we have a thread here about charisma and it relationship to power dynamics?
