I think all the best thinking has already been done on this thread a couple of small tails from me.

Without the forum I would not have paid for PU.   But that was point in time PU is far more developed now.

I still think it has that the actual words to say value.

I'm wondering if you could do a twofer here Lucio, YouTube seems to do quite well with live streams maybe you could do that and post the forum link in the stream

+1 to Transitioned's idea.

If I may be so bold to propose that every video could have a link to the forum below it or that you mention the forum in the video.

Then the forum leads to PU so it's another entry point in addition to PU -> Forum. Forum user becoming PU students rather than the other way around.

Thank you for your answer Lucio! I am sincerely admirative of how you think. I learned from your post on how to be a better leader.

Correction:

I want to say it again: I think that PU without the forum does not have the same value and becomes "just another self-development product". An excellent one, a superior one of course. With the forum it becomes a tool in a synergy of back-and-forth between the two.

I reformulate to better express my thoughts:

I want to say it again: I think that PU without the forum does not have the same value and becomes "another self-development product". An excellent one, a superior one of course, the best one I have encountered. With the forum it becomes a tool in a synergy of back-and-forth between the two.

Thank you for the idea, Transitioned!

Yeah, I think that could work well.

Just to clarify one thing because I didn't put it the right way:

I drew some conclusions from forum usage.
But that didn't mean to say "we should have more people" or "it would be good to have more people" or "it would make me happy / it would make the forum great if more people used it".

Whether people end up using it or not is neither bad nor good.
It's just a fact.

And when it comes to convincing or not, so far the approach has been different.
It's not about convincing, it's about offering an option, mentioning it, and letting people decide for themselves.

I still think it's a valid approach.
Also becuase if too many beginners join and the ratio of beginners:intermediate:experts skews towards the beginners, then I think it's not good for the forum or for anyone's learning.

Up again for this one.

Refraing from posting unless you're OK with losing it.

We're addressing a possible bug that shuffles lessons randomly.

Whenever that happens, we may need to restore previous databases.

That doesn't affect Power University, articles, or anything that hasn't been changed.
But it will remove all the changes since the last backup (including forum posts).

Hello,

it seems my last 2 posts on YB ideas have been deleted. If there are any issue with the content or on the technical side, happy to know.

UP again.

Unluckily the issue wasn't solved for good.

I had to restore the previous DB version and some posts and threads have gone lost.

Please consider any post you write may be lost at least until I have a clear idea of what the issue was, and that it's been addressed.

I'm also considering to make the forum read-only until the issue is fixed because it makes me very uncomfortable that forum users have to pay with their time and effort for TPM's issue.

Thanks for the update.

If you did not have time to write down the ideas I sent I can write them again it's all good.

I noticed there were some issues with the order of Lessons getting jumbled up and noticed now that some of my posts were lost.

Thanks for the heads up on the tech issues.
Hope you're on track to sorting out the bug - I have some IT background, so if you feel a brainstorm of what the F is going on - let me know.

Otherwise, I'll wait for a heads up before posting anything any further.

Hello Lucio and admins,

a suggestion that you might have already considered: to have an automatic save of the DB every hour or half-hour. Then you can safely roll back more easily. It's a bit of a hassle for you maybe anyway.

Or consider moving the DB to another host.

You guys know better.

Cheers.
