[Study] Is "framing you as the attacker or attacker's teammate" feel like an attack?

If someone tries hard to frame you as the attacker or the attacker's teammate, does it feel like an attack?
Example: "You took the side of the attacker."
I learnt a lot from John, who once said "framing you as the attacker is clearly an attack". I think many other people including Lucio also made similar points before.
I am curious to learn more. Let's have a neutral and objective study without involving personal emotion or intention. It is possible that the speaker has positive philosophy in mind.
