Suggestion: defense sub-forum

Hello Lucio,

first, I want to thank you for your open-mindedness and considerations of my previous suggestions. It's a pleasure to be part of a community where suggestions are being listened to.

Here is a new one, what do you think of a "Defense" sub-forum inside the power dynamics one?

Because I find it to be a huge topic in itself.

Hey John,

Interesting, what do you think a sub on "defense" should include?

Like how to defend against power moves, one-upping, abuse, and generally all value-taking behavior?

As a general approach, I seek to keep the general categories both to stay at a higher level of abstraction, and to avoid "crowding" from a user interface point of view.

Right now there is 4 of them:

  • Leadership
  • Case studies
  • Negotiation
  • Techniques (proven)

With one more, it would be 5.
From a graphical point of view, it might start to look confusing.

There are some workarounds though, like I could change the name "techniques (proven)" to something like "top" or "gold" to make it shorter and save some space.

Have you read the forum guidelines for effective communication already?

Like how to defend against power moves, one-upping, abuse, and generally all value-taking behavior?

Yes, exactly.

I think it's a very important topic. I understand the issue. If you look at how much we post. I think we post way more about defense than leadership. I think your categories are good. I also think the title "techniques (proven)" is good.

So I could suggest:

  1. To replace leadership with defense: but that's not fair as leadership is important. But it seems that it's not the current priority concern of most people.
  2. Just to add the category and be ok with 5.

What do you think?
