Thank you! A prehistoric new student

Hello, I have already sent an email with the following content,

"Hey Lucio!

I have been a student of "Power University" since April 2019, but never got around to focusing on it fully.

I have been a big fan of your work since the time I came across it, but never got to fully go through the full lessons because of the user interface, which I found rather difficult to navigate through . Although I had realised a long time ago that you have created a treasure chest for us, I could not focus due to the user interface and the navigation.

As a result, in over 1 year, I had only finished around 2% of the course. I would visit the site after weeks/ months, Skim through a few things and then not come back for another few weeks/months.

But I was always sure something great would happen soon, because I would see how you always made the site better every time I would visit.

My belief turned into reality 2 days ago.

I came across your latest updates to the Power University. The user interface is so amazing now! it is so much more pleasing to the Eye! now it feels so amazing to navigate through the lessons! I have sat through and completed more lessons in the last two days, than the last 1 year combined!

I love it!

I just wanted to thank you for always looking out for your students!

and also congratulate you for creating such an amazing product and a collaborative community!

Awesome to read that!

Yes, you hit the nail on the head.
The main reason I decided to switch to this new theme is that it's developed by the same developers of the learning management system, so now the course look & usability are far better.

It's also easier to reach the course from the users' profiles, which some people were having issues with in the past (I received quite a few emails with somethin like "I access this strange WordPress dashboard on my profile, can't find the course.." ).

Should I change the color from yellow to blue?

Now I'm wondering whether or not I should change the course's default colors to this website's typical blue (not sure that would look better or not, though).

If you -or anyone else- has any feedback or idea on that, I'm very happy to read.

Congrats on the progress, A!

Yea, the typical blue is what we're all accustomed to. Yet, the added yellow/orange makes the site more appealing because of the contrast in colors.

I imagine it as the businessman who wears the typical black suit and white dress shirt, but instead of adding a black tie which is what most are used to seeing (and probably expect), he adds a vibrant orange tie. Gives some added personality to the overall look :)

I can't say for sure how the site will look with the typical blue.

But what i can say for sure is that

"the current website can grab and keep my attention for an extended period of time now, especially on my phone!"

by the way Lucio, are you considering adding any new categories to the blog section?

I read your review copy of "The Clever Connector". Amazing work!!

I wanted to leave a review of it on amazon.

Unfortunately however, I am not eligible to leave reviews on amazon. (I have to spend over $50 on amazon to be a eligible reviewer, which i am yet to be.).

If there is any other place i may leave a review, or any other way i may help in this regard please let me know

First question,

I'm not thinking of adding categories for now, but I do am thinking on how to make them more descriptive / improve the grouping.

So far the category sorting is not working properly yet, something I'll look into soon with the developer (still waiting for another guy to finish the homepage, he's been on it almost a week now, not the fastest worker).

Yes, correct in the general principle (just a side-note that I personally wouldn't think of me as "higher power" than anyone here, but I can see how one might feel that way).

When I wrote on the "welcome part", think more like a formally structured power-relationship with a boss, for example.
When you reply to him "you're welcome", he might feel like you're trying to invert the power dynamics.
"You're welcome" feels like you gave, and that now the transaction has ended -and that he potentially owes you-.

Better to say something "my pleasure", so he feels like with you he's got an ally he can rely on in the future as well (bosses like to promote allies).

And, yea, those Amazon rules can be a pain sometimes. Thanks for doing your best to leave a review anyway, there were many who felt entitled to the free copy and didn't seek a win-win.
