The ultra-conservatives everyday toxicity: Steven Crowder
Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on August 15, 2023, 9:37 amI'm reflecting on this politically incorrect opinion:
Ultra-conservative is (almost?) inherently abusive and toxic.
It's not easy to spot because today's conservatives abide the cultural diktats, so they always swear by:
- Anti-racism (instead of actual blatant racism and a natural dislike for anyone different)
- Women's freedom of choice (instead of the "extreme patriarchal" approach that sees the man always above and the woman obeying, independently of free-will and what he brings to the table)
- Win-win (instead of drive to oppress / dominate / impose win-loses)
- ....
This may be a good example though of the everyday toxicity of an ultra-conservative (ignore the commentary that is over-biased):

Him: the only way out of this is discipline and respect (keywords for "you must obey me and look up to me", something you must earn, not demand)
(...)
Him: become someone, listen to me, day in and day out, worthy of a wife's worth (judge power move to have her prove herself to him with the servitude he craves)It's not extreme in the sense of attacking or hurling insults (albeit it allegedly got worse once he went back in and given the dynamics, it's very possible).
But do this constantly, and it's most certainly toxic and abusive.
She initiated the breakup and he later commented "in Texas law, you can divorce even if only one partner wants" -that tells you a lot of the conservative mentality lol-.
I find it semi-disgusting because, to me, this is entitled/weak.
You don't demand that stuff.
You earn it.If you're a high-quality guy, most women will want to support and contribute and care.
But to demand it, and to do so with that attitude... Pretty f*cking cheap.

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on August 16, 2023, 8:54 amI think over-conservatism may as well be a red flag for women.
Somewhere else in that video Crowder says "I picked wrong".
The obvious premise here is that you can't judge a full personality and relationship based on a short video.
But in that short video, I see a lot of signs that she seems like a great relationship-quality woman.
And it was her who picked wrong.

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on August 16, 2023, 8:57 amSome men say that feminism is about power.
And, in part, they're right.
Ultra-conservatism is the same, just for men.
It's also, in part, about power (and control).
