The world as it is: it makes a lot of people angry (quote)

I am now listening to "What Color is Your Parachute", and I couldn't help but nod and smile at this quote:

One favor I ask of you: do not write me, telling me how picayune or asinine some of this is. I know that. I’m not reporting the world as it should be, and certainly not as I would like it to be. I’m only reporting what study after study has revealed about the world as it is. And how it affects your chances of getting hired.

Attacking people who describe the world as it is is a favorite sport in our day and age.
It's actualy a (subconscious) social strategy to make our defects and shortcomings less obvious and apparent.
It's embedded in the SJW and guilt-trip movement as well.
Yet, it's maladaptive because it focuses people on what's wrong with them instead of ways around it.

I need to write an article on this very soon.
