Trump VS Giuliani: don't do business with crooks without getting paid first
I've been casually following the Trump / Rudolph Giuliani saga a little bit.
In brief:
Giuliani is now being prosecuted for trying to overturn the 2020 election in favor of Trump.
He is legally embattled, financially wiped out, and after having been somewhat of a "mythic figure" as NYC mayor and mafia prosecutor, he is probably now at the lowest of his life/career:
And I gotta say:
I'm not very surprised that Giuliani is not getting paid by Trump.
And that he's not receiving much help, if any.
What I'm more surprised by is that Giuliani did all the work he did, exposing himself big time, without getting paid first.
In my very distant and not-so-informed opinion, Giuliani isn't much better and more honest than Trump.
And since often a crook can spot another crook, I would have guessed that he would have known better.
I'm thinking maybe he wanted to be relevant and so he took over the biggest "case of the decade" to lead.
So it wasn't so much the money for him, but the fame.
Still, the failure and implosion of that case was a very real possibility, and not getting paid by Trump but getting discarded like a used soiled tissue was even more likely.
Lesson learned for us:
Especially when working with crooks, make sure you get paid first, OR that you're going to get something back from your work.
And always consider the possibility that if you do business with the scam, you may get scammed.
This reminds me of what you predicted regarding the capitol attack. As you said people who are now going to jail for attacking the capitol (11 and 13 years of jail) are saying: “the president lied to us”. They’re paying for him.
The price of dealing with a manipulator and taker is often very much underestimated. We say to ourselves: “but it’s worth it I’ll get this and that through the manipulator”. And often it’s true we get the things we wanted. But we overpay and very probably could have obtained the same if we would have dealt with an honest person or an eagle.
Most often these people go down as they often end up being found out. And when they go down if we’re associated with them we go down as well.
Who wants to be known as the manipulator’s mentee/friend/pupil?
