Udemy: why not putting your course there?
Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on January 14, 2020, 5:50 pmThis is a question which arrived personal message:
I've been an avid follower of your website the Power Moves. I like to personally thank you for the lessons and articles you created they truly help me in many ways. Just a suggestion, why not have your course available in Udemy? Looking forward to more lessons from you.
Well, I thought about it.
I once met a guy who had a course on confidence on Udemy.
Solid content, but nothing crazy.Still, it was enough for him to live off of it, so I thought there might be an opportunity.
I even signed up for an account.
But then I realized it might not be the best place. It seemed to me that Udemy is mostly for video courses of people talking in front of a camera.
I don't believe that is the best way to deliver knowledge.I believe the best way to learn is through real-life examples, together with detailed explanations.
That's why Social Power is a mix of videos, pictures, text, dialogues, and even quizzes.
And that didn't seem to fit well into Udemy.
So I stopped.Maybe in the future I might think about putting one single module in there.
Workplace power dynamics, for example, as there is nothing around on that topic.
But it's not a top priority for now.
