When someone turn the table
Quote from Mathieu on December 20, 2021, 11:00 pmHey guys,
How do you call the following technique:
Guy 1: You have a history of being with left wing, when you were in your 20s, you were with communists. And in our society it's OK if not a motive of pride to come from this political side.
Guy 2: There are a lot of things that come from this side (keep developing his philosopher frames) (and then), and by the way, where were YOU when you were in your 20s.GENERAL CONCEPT:
What do you do when someone turns the table when it's about THEM. ? How do you call this technique? it's very powerful, and off-putting.Solution: We could talk about me, there are a lot of things, I could tell you about my 20s, but this is not about me, this is about you and your political views , etc

Quote from Matthew Whitewood on December 21, 2021, 2:14 amI think surfacing could work:
What is the point you are trying to make?
Why are you saying that?
You are right. He has his own political agenda too. So you could hit that
It seems like you have strong political opinions. Please elaborate.
He may continue to accuse you. You can use the philosopher as you advised:
I have my views. You have your views. That's why we have multiple parties in this country.
