Why men bodyshame and women support "body positivity" (bodyshaming power dynamics)

In good part, men body shame because of (sexual) power dynamics.

And women "support" for the same (manipulative) power dynamics.

It works like this:

Women who don't care about their body are a threat to men.

They're a threat because:

  • If no woman stays fit, men have little good dating options
  • If women don't care about their body, men lose a controlling tool

On the other hand, when there are man women who care, it means:

  • Men have lots of good sexual options
  • Men can more easily control/shame women through food/body size
  • Men overly focused on body shape have low self-esteem, making them easier to control (in that sense, a bit of "body positivity" is actually healthy)

Now you'd think then that women are being "nice" to support other women through "body positivity"?

Yeah, sure... :)

Women "support" body positivity because:

  • Body positivity is good for them in case they get fat (if everyone else is fat, they lose nothing)
  • Body positivity is also great for fit women, because they gain a huge competitive advantage

Made a video short about it:

Curious to see how it performs.

My guess is:

Few people will like it because people are looking for either blaming others (ie.: men are bad, we women support each other), or an uplifting message ("we want to encourage women to stay fit and healthy", yeah, sure :) ).

I had to cut out the final "lesson learned" though because it wouldn't fit.

But there was a "takeaway".

This:

Don’t body-shame, and not because we support virtue-signaling, but because it’s still weak.
It sub-communicates you want to control and one-up, and sub-communicates fear of not finding a good partner.
Focus on yourself instead, and find the right thin girl for you (if you like thin :) )

Hello Lucio,

It's really interesting info indeed :). I believe this shows again how political ideas have  separated men-women creating the so called gender war, as the "body positive movement" is considered left wing in most places.

But I also find interesting how most women that have been raised in conservative countries engage in body shaming.

  • Maybe it's because they've been conditioned to think in a certain way and they act that way as a result.
  • Because they get the feeling/are aware that most men value physical attractiveness, hence they try to force their younger female relatives to be healthier/thinner by shaming them.
  • Simply want the good feelings of being in the judge role, or playing power moves.

Nonetheless I think it still shows the huge impact that culture can have in the power dynamics of the population. As well as how the patriarchy might have been way more real than most red-pill guys like to admit, but this would mean that there's a "matriarchy" too as most left winged ideas empower women while disempowering men quite the opposite of right winged ideas.

Cheers.

P.S:

By the way I've noticed certain habits/behaviours that I have because of the reasons you point out. The thought/fact of having less mating options with "good looking" bodies because of this body positive movement is indeed something I believe most men do not appreciate.
