Common Judge power moves 'Thank You' , 'That's fine', 'Perfect' and 'Correct'
Quote from Transitioned on January 18, 2023, 3:12 amThanks Lucio that makes a lot of sense. It's exactly that, you can't let them have the last word.
I shared a useful link in the group cat and got a pat from the real manager. Then this lady jumped in again with same and did the same TU move with the manager. As per the OODA loop I won't watch her too much. But I think she is going to be a nice PM generator for us.

I have to say I'm quite confused. Just as stereotypical naive person, I don't see malice behind it.
I thought 'Thank You' shows you as a giver and the other person as taker, which seems like something good for you, also in later messages there's discussion that you can't leave them to have the last word. Why not? After all, if it's a judge move, doesn't ignoring it show that you are not affected ( If there is some power move going on )?
What does one lose for not addressing it ( by answering to someone else )? What is the power move?

Hi DGX37
Thank You's itself are not usually dis empowering, but in Transitioned's case, the how, who and why behind the "Thank You" is important. The lady who thanked him was Transitioned colleague, and she thanked him using his name in front of everyone, which usually only bosses/leaders do, she had no business thanking anyone there, it's just not her place to do it. She also termed his action as helpful, which is her taking a judge position, his actions indeed are helpful, but pointing it out and thanking him for doing it while addressing him using his name when she is at the same level as him, is her trying to social climb at Transitioned's expense. Only people who are boss/leader/ anyone who is above that level can do it without it coming of as a social climbing.
There was absolutely no need for her to say anything, but if at all she wanted to say something,
She could have just put up a thumbs up or just said Thanks.
