Yea, it looked a lot better in my head :D.

I wanted to "focus forward", thinking of something new and fresh. But, really, I think the white is one of—and is quite possibly the—best header possible here.

One option would be to give the "The Power Moves" logo a gold/yellow border (instead of the blue in this photo) and see how that looks across the website.

Lucio, does that stray too far from what you were hoping for?

Curious what you guys think of the new gold theme for the forum.

I'm still getting used to it, but one thing I realized is what was mostly causing the clash in colors.

It wasn't the color choice so much as it was the color's lightness. Using the dark color black and then another dark color (the former dark blue) caused a poor contrast.

So, I tested a lighter blue and I think it looks pretty good:

The IWT website seems to do their color contrast with black quite well too. Ramit's latest update uses a light cream color with black:

And, a recurring theme among a few black and white website designs I saw is the use of the color grey:

I think the gold wasn't a bad idea given the popularity of the chess piece in the community so far. So, I pulled the yellow from the bottom of scienceofpeople.com's blog:

The color before this one felt like more of an orange than a yellow which gave me some Halloween vibes. I think that this yellow Vanessa uses on her website is a pretty good contrast.

I'm not opposed to exploring a few more color options until we find the right one.

So, what do you guys think of these colors?

Damn, I like the colour scheme designs here.
And I also like Lucio's recent tinge of red on the buttons.

For some reason like Lucio advised on the cache, my colour scheme on the forum is still black.

I still like the blue because it doesn't jump out to my eyes and it's quite aesthetic.
But the issue I guess is that you may be shifting away from blue as part of the core brand colours of the website.

Did you revert to black again?

I think putting the colours on a palette side by side could help in deciding the website colours:

This is from Canva's Color Palette Generator.

I think you wanted the golden chess piece with a black background to set the colour tones of the website.
Canva's Color Palette Generator managed to extract the relevant colours:

So maybe Gunsmoke or Jumbo for the forum bars and boxes.
Anzac for the icons.

I think the colours have been darkened because the golden chess piece has been overlayed by the black background.
So one can play with the lightness values in hue, saturation, lightness (hsl) in CSS instead of the hex values.
