for some reason this scene strikes me similar to the decapitated horse head scene from the Godfather.

puting it in frames, as if it were some art stuff, makes it more unnerving in my opinion.

Yeah, quite similar.

I remember once seeing a Japanese girl who was into this "GioGio"... But I somehow always thought it was some kind of cutesy cartoon. Boy, was I wrong :).
