Hey, Lucio, the link you gave talks about editing one's post, not about deleting it.
This post, for instance just requires deletion, nothing more. there's not value in it, as was made by mistake.

I think if you can not edit it, you can not delete it neither after the time to edit elapsed. (i feel like i mangled english grammar here)

Yeah, you could not delete it indeed, and I didn't even know that.

But now I changed the settings, so within a certain time limit, you can delete both posts and threads.

@bel

The timer right now is set at 30 minutes:

I reduced it from 2h to 30 minutes (and after considering removing that option completely) after I was replying to a post, only to then have wasted that time because the post had been deleted.

As it had happened to me, it might happen to someone else, and I consider it a bigger pity that someone wastes time, rather than someone misses an opportunity to amend following second thoughts (sometimes the two aren't independent but there's a trade-off between the two).

I think sometimes there's merit on a first rushed thought and there's much to learn from it.
And there's also time to amend by retracting or adding on a later post.
But time wasted replying on a deleted thread is always a 100% loss.

Edit:
Referring to this post.
Case in point: I think an edit soon after makes a lot of sense. A long time after, less so, and it's higher risk of wasting other people's time.
But I'm very open to different opinions here.

Hi Lucio,

I have no issue with the "delete" timer being set to 30 minutes. In this case the button wasn't there even though I decided to delete/move the post just 2 minutes after posting. Maybe a one-time glitch.

Actually, my bad, you're right.

There's a third option beneath it, and I had indeed not just "considered" it, but removed it.

I re-added it now, with a 15 mins time frame.

If one wants to delete a post after a correction that has been made that should replace the previous answer. That is after the 60 min window. Is there a way one can request to do this?
