Metal credit card power dynamics (status & seduction)

Talking about "subtle indicators of power".

A metal credit card can go a long way.

I recently got a metal card (very cheap BTW, and only because it saves me money with international exchanges and withdrawal), and two people already commented on it at the checkout (meaning that plenty more said nothing, but noticed).

Both times it was women.

The second one was the same lady of this dynamic, who was hence already well-predisposed towards me:

Her: oh wow, it's so heavy
Me: yeah, it's metal
Her: (keeps on weighing it and observing it) you never forget this one, you can always feel it
Me: it's like a health card, carry that weight around, you sure stay fit
Her: ahah, yeah
(couldn't drop the subject)
Her: you could kill someone with this one (she goes into the dark side of power)
Me: yeah, you can pay a latte... Or dispatch of someone for good (easy irony: keep on building on what she says, almost always works)
Her: ahaha... oh I'm sorry

The "oh I'm sorry" is something women sometimes say when they feel they got "carried away too much", and sometimes it means they feel they got carried away too much with (sexual) excitement.

A funny skit from "Up In The Air" (& Clooney is a 10/10 here):

Her: we're two people who get turned on by elite status, I think cheap is our starting point

LOL :D.
Many men fear and hate women who are into status (see all the rage around "hypergamy").
I wouldn't necessarily get together with them, but I actually like them :) (but that's not to say there aren't many high-quality, awesome, non-status seeking women as well)

I wrapped my plastic card in aluminium foil.
Does that count? Hahaha

I guess, in the movie, the woman had enough status that she treated him like a kind of disposable.
I mean not necessarily a bad thing if you are looking for something casual.

I used the Revolut credit card (challenger bank) to travel around Europe before.
It was plastic but it was colourful.
One waitress commented that it was colourful.

I don't think that it conferred the same level of status as a metal card.
I mean it was free LOL since that was when Revolut just started.
I think the exchange rates for Revolut are not so good now.
